Margaret has been an active global member of the Business Continuity Institute (BCI) since 1998. She has been a contributing author to the BCI Good Practice Guide (GPG) Contributor for the 2023, 2017, 2013, & 2010 editions. She was a founding board member of the BCI USA Chapter in 2010. Margaret was invited by the BCI’s Chairperson to join the Risk and Governance Committee which reports into the UK based Board of Directors (2011 – 2015). In 2019, she was one of the early members of the BCI Women in Resilience (WiR). Margaret was Vice Chair of the WiR (2021 – 2024).
She has worked for IT and Financial Services Fortune 300 companies in Ireland and the United States to build Business Continuity Management Programs. Margaret is an internationally respected Business Continuity practitioner and has held board levels positions with various business continuity organizations, written publications and spoken at industry conferences in North America, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.
Margaret has been an advocate for the Alzheimer’s Association since 20027. In 2015, she was appointed the Alzheimer’s Association of Eastern North Carolina Board Chair.
In 2023, she was awarded the BCI Lifetime Achievement Award for her services to the profession.
