We are once again taking part in the Great ShakeOut, and is inviting people and organizations to learn the three actions to take in the event of an earthquake. The 2024 edition of this rallying and mobilizing event, the Great ShakeOut 2024, will be held on Thursday, October 17, 2024 at 10:17 a.m. (Eastern Time).

What is the Great ShakeOut?  

The Great ShakeOut is a worldwide exercise to raise awareness of the earthquake hazard and communicate the three actions to take in the event of an earthquake : Drop, Cover and Hold On! 

This event has always been important to Premier Continuum.  

Its president, Isabelle Primeau, was elected and responsible for many years for the realization of the Great ShakeOut' Québec division (La Grande Secousse), managed by the Association de sécurité civile du Québec (ASCQ).

Are there earthquakes in Quebec?  

The Quebec Province, like all regions of the world, is not immune to earthquakes. Small tremors strike us every year, and they can be more severe in some parts of the province. That's why the Premier Continuum team is taking part and practising during the Grande Secousse.  

The team is even taking the opportunity to test various internal communication tools, including the emergency notification functionality of its ParaSolution business continuity software.

"We invite the public and organizations alike to learn about what to do in the event of an earthquake, and to take practical steps to ensure that these actions become reflexes," says Isabelle Primeau, President of Premier Continuum.
